As a result of legislative changes in the Federal student loan program and continued tightening of secondary markets, Southside Bank is withdrawing from participating in the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP). We regret having to make this decision and want our customers to know it was not made lightly.

Effective immediately, Southside Bank will no longer accept new FFELP student loan applications. However, we will be available throughout this transition to assist borrowers with questions. Loans already guaranteed by Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation and scheduled for future funding will be honored.

Stafford Loan applicants:
Contact your school's financial aid office to request a lender change
Complete and submit a new Master Promissory Note, provided by your new lender
Loan funds will be sent directly to your school

PLUS Loan applicants:
Apply for pre-approval with another lender
Complete and submit a new Master Promissory Note, provided by your new lender
Loan funds will be sent directly to your school
