Summer Debit Card Sweepstakes (this “Promotion”) begins at 12:00:01 AM Central Time on July 2, 2023, and ends at 11:59:59 PM Central Time on August 27, 2023 (the “Promotion Period”).
ELIGIBILITY. This Promotion is open only to legal residents of Texas (the “Eligibility Area”) who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Only individuals may enter; no entries from any corporation or other entity shall be accepted. This Promotion is VOID outside of the Eligibility Area. Employees and their immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, and siblings) of Southside Bank (Sponsor), their advertising agencies, and/or persons in their households are not eligible to enter or win.
HOW TO ENTER. You will be entered in the Promotion for the following: (1) Conduct 5 transactions1 with your Southside Bank Debit Card greater than $5.00 each that posts to your account during the Promotion Period will automatically count as one (1) entry into the drawing for the grand prize, and one (1) entry into the current periods weekly prize; each additional transaction1 conducted in an amount greater than $5.00 will count as one (1) additional entry; transmission date and time, included in the settled or posted transaction, by the payment network will determine the entry period for each transaction; (2) Alternate Method of Entry: An individual may enter by printing legibly his/her complete name, physical mailing address, email address, telephone number, date of birth, and the label “Summer Debit Card Sweepstakes Promotion Entry” on a 3”x5” card and mailing it to: Southside Bank, P.O. Box 1079, Tyler, TX 75710-1079, where the date physically received by the Sponsor determines the entry period.
Regardless of Method of Entry: Entries received by Sponsor after the end of the Promotion Period will be discarded and deemed void. No changes to any entry information will be permitted once submitted. No mechanically reproduced or photocopied entries are permitted. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. No purchase or bank transaction is necessary to enter or win.
By participating, entrants: (1) agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which shall be binding and final in all respects; (2) acknowledge that said Sponsor has neither made nor is in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relating to any prize; and (3) warrant that he/she is eligible to participate in this Promotion.
PRIZES; ODDS OF WINNING. A total of twenty-five (25) prizes will be awarded. Prizes: Twenty-four (24) $500 cashier’s checks; one (1) $3,000 cashier’s check. Winner will be solely responsible for all applicable taxes, and/or any other expenses associated with acceptance and use of the prize. Winners will be issued a 1099 miscellaneous income tax form for the Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of the prize. Southside Bank shall not be responsible or liable for winner’s inability or failure to utilize prize. Prize may not be combined with any other offer. No substitution, assignment, or transfer of prize will be permitted, except that Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute prize with a prize of equal or greater value. LIMIT ONE (1) $500 CASHIER’S CHECK PRIZE PER INDIVIDUAL AND PER CARDHOLDER.
Odds of winning are determined by and depend upon the total number of eligible entries received. The odds of winning the prizes will be the same by alternate means of entry as by the first means of entry above.
WINNER SELECTION. Three (3) drawings will be conducted weekly for the following periods: on or before July 10, 2023 (for period July 2nd – July 9th), July 17, 2023 (for period July 10th – July 16th), July 24, 2023 (for period July 17th – July 23rd), July 31, 2023 (for period July 24th – July 30th), August 7, 2023 (for period July 31st – August 6th), August 14, 2023 (for period August 7th – August 13th), August 21, 2023 (for period August 14th – August 20th), August 28, 2023 (for period August 21st – August 27th). One (1) Grand Prize drawing will be conducted on or before August 28, 2023 (for period July 2nd – August 27th).
One (1) $500 cashier’s check winner will be chosen each week from our three (3) Regions (East Texas, Central & North Texas, Southeast Texas) (determined by the originating branch tied to the debit card primary account – 55 branches total) by random drawing by Sponsor from among the total number of eligible entries received during the weekly period. All mail-in entries will be placed in branch one (1). WINNERS DO NOT HAVE TO BE PRESENT TO WIN. Prize award is subject to verification and will be awarded upon winner validation and verification by Sponsor.
NOTIFICATION. Winners will be announced and notified no later than two (2) business days after the drawing dates and will be notified via email, mail or phone. If Southside Bank is unable to contact the potential winner within 7 days, an alternate winner shall be selected. Unless prohibited by applicable law, acceptance of prize constitutes permission for Sponsor, its subsidiaries and affiliates to use any prize winner’s name, likeness and/or biographical information for advertising, trade, publicity, and promotional purposes in any media now known or hereafter devised in connection with this Promotion without review, notification, approval, or compensation.
RELEASE. By participating in this Promotion, entrants release and hold Sponsor, subsidiaries and affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents harmless from any and all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever arising out of this Promotion. Except where prohibited, entrants agree that any and all disputes which cannot be resolved between or among the parties and any claims or causes of action arising out of or connected with this Promotion shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action.
GENERAL INFORMATION. The failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. If any part of these Official Rules is held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable, that part will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the remainder of these Official Rules will remain fully in force.
PRIVACY NOTICE. Any personal information provided by entrants will be used by Sponsor solely to administer this Promotion and in accordance with Southside Bank’s Privacy Policy.
1 Transaction(s) is defined as a point-of-sale purchase at a merchant location in person or utilizing an ecommerce method. A transaction does NOT include a refund, ATM withdrawal, funds transfer at the ATM. In general, any purchase transaction other than an ATM transaction that is conducted over a payment network qualifies as a transaction. This is not limited by the method of payment. (Swipe, chip, PIN, credit or signature, contactless, mobile wallet, manual entry) Transaction(s) disputed or reported as fraudulent are not eligible as an entry method.
