Southside Serves has once again partnered with Raymond James Cares to help cherished Market Place chaplain, Donna Skorheim, and her non-profit organization, Jesus’ Closet, provide school supplies to hundreds of needy families in the Tyler community. Every year, this joint event raises funds and collects school supplies to donate to Jesus’ Closet.
This event has grown larger every year, and in 2022, almost $1,200 of school supplies were raised by the Southside Investment Services Department and distributed at the Liberty Arms Apartments in Tyler. Southside employees helped by making monetary donations to purchase school supplies, donating school supplies, and volunteering to help distribute school supplies to the children who live in the Liberty Arms Apartments. During the distribution, backpacks filled with school supplies were given out to the children.
When Southside Serves meets RJ Cares, big impacts can be made. That’s one of the reasons this event has been so well-received over the years and is something Southside employees and community members look forward to every year.
